When to use it

When you sign up for something in online banking or an insurance app, unfamiliar wording keeps appearing. You do not want to leave the screen, but moving on without knowing what it means is worrying.

Use Screen Scan when:

This feature does not use your camera. It works by sharing your computer screen. Nothing around you is photographed.

How to use it

  1. Start screen sharing — Press 🔴 Start Screen Share. When the browser asks which screen to share, choose what you want to check. Options such as tab, window or entire screen depend on your browser and operating system. Choose a scope that shows only what you need.
  2. Recognize the screen — Press the full-screen analysis button to read the text currently on screen. Choose 1 min, 3 min or 5 min for auto rescan to have it read again at that interval. Choose Off if you do not need it.
  3. Check personal data yourself — When recognition finishes, check the screen before sending and always hide any area with personal information yourself.
  4. Hide more areas yourself — Start masking mode and drag over the screen with the mouse to hide that area. When you are done, press the button to finish masking and request the AI analysis. To go back to tapping words to look them up, turn masking mode off.
  5. Consent to send — A final confirmation appears. Confirm three things — that you hid financial identifiers such as resident registration, account and card numbers; that you hid personal details such as names, phone numbers and email; and that you agree to send this image to the AI — then press Send. All three must be checked before anything is sent.
  6. Capture again — If the screen has changed, capture it again; to stop, press ■ Stop.

If a money transfer or authentication screen is detected, a warning appears at the top. It is safer not to share such screens.

What you will see

🕘 Scan History on the left collects the results read so far, in order. Drag over an unfamiliar word on the screen to look up just that word, and continue in the chat at the bottom with questions such as Is this clause unfavorable to me? and Tell me about late-payment penalty clauses. Chat questions are processed only when you ask them.

Text can be misrecognized while the screen is read, and AI explanations can contain errors or omissions. For important procedures, check the wording on the original screen yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Q. Does it film me with the camera?

A. No. The camera is not used. Only the screen you choose is shared, and sharing ends as soon as you stop it.

Q. The screen sharing window does not appear.

A. Your browser may be blocking screen sharing. Allow the permission from the lock icon next to the address bar. Screen sharing is often not supported in mobile browsers.

Q. Can I see the entire screen at once?

A. If your browser's sharing dialog offers the entire screen, you can choose it. What is available depends on your browser, operating system and permissions. The entire screen may show personal information in other windows, so choose the tab or window you need first.

Q. Can I share my banking app's sign-in screen?

A. We do not recommend it. Do not share money transfer, authentication or sign-in screens; a warning appears if such a screen is detected. Use it only on screens showing terms or notices.

Q. If I turn on auto rescan, is everything sent continuously?

A. Reading the screen and sending to the AI are separate. Sending to the AI happens only when you finish masking and press Send in the consent window.
